Penelitian ini memanfaatkan novel eminus dolere karya Arman Dhani yang telah mengalami proses alih wahana dan ekranisasi menjadi sebuah film berjudul Panduan Mempersiapkan Perpisahan sutradara Adriyanto Dewo. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap jalannya proses alih wahana yang memicu timbulnya pengilangan bagian-bagian yang tidak diperlukan, penambahan bagian, serta variasinya pada novel ke film. Analisis akan persamaan serta perbedaan diantara versi novel karya Arman Dhani serta film yang disutradarai oleh Adriyanto Dewo, menunjukkan penelusuran secara jauh atas bermacam penyebab serta pertimbangan akan terdapatnya persamaan juga perbedaan dari kedua karya tersebut. Metode penelitian ini mempergunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang juga menjelaskan beragam alasan timbulnya pembaruan yang diakibatkan dari alih wahana novel dan film tersebut. Pengumpulan data serta analisis informasi berdasar kepada teks yang ada pada novel, ditemukan adanya perbedaan setelah proses alih wahana dilakukan. Adanya pengilangan, karena sutradara film diharuskan untuk melakukan pemotongan serta melakukan pemilihan akan bagian yang ‘tidak dibutuhkannya’ untuk ditambahkan ke dalam film. Salah satu contohnya adalah dalam novel digambarkan bahwa tokoh laki-laki memiliki wawasan musik yang cukup luas, namun versi film tidak dijelaskan mengenai hal tersebut. Ada juga beberapa penambahan, karena perlu adanya penambahan adegan sebagai proses dramatisasi, dan adanya variasi agar keseluruhan film menjadi lebih menarik. Salah satu penambahan terdapat pada penamaan kedua tokoh utama pada film. Dalam film disebutkan bahwa nama tokoh bernama Bara dan Demi, namun pada versi novel tidak disebutkan nama kedua tokoh utama.

This research utilizes the novel eminus dolere by Arman Dhani which has undergone a process of vehicle transfer and ecranization into a film entitled Panduan Mempersiapkan Perpisahan directed by Adriyanto Dewo. The purpose of this study is to reveal the process of translation that triggers the removal of unnecessary parts, addition of parts, and variation from novel to movie. The analysis of the similarities and differences between the novel version by Arman Dhani and the movie by director Adriyanto Dewo, shows a further exploration of the reasons and considerations for thessimilarities and differences between the two works. This research method uses a qualitatiive descriptive method that also explains the reasons for the changes resulting from the conversion of the novel and the movie. Collecting data and analyzing information based on the text contained in the novel, it was found that there were differences after the conversion process was carried out. There was a shrinkage, because the movie director had to cut and select 'unnecessary' parts to be added to the movie. One example is that in the novel it is described that the male character has a fairly broad knowledge of music, but the movie version does not explain this. There were also some additions, due to the need for additional scenes as a dramatization process, and variations to make the whole film more interesting. One of the additions is in the naming of the two main characters in the movie. In the movie, it is mentioned that the names of the characters are Bara and Demi, but the novel version does not mention the names of the two main characters.
