Persediaan merupakan bahan-bahan atau barang-barang yang disediakan untuk memenuhi permintaan dari konsumen atau pelanggan, atau dalam rangka menghadapi ketidakpastian permintaan yang datang baik dari segi jumlah maupun waktu, dan juga sebagai bentuk jaga-jaga jika di waktu mendatang akan terjadi kenaikan harga. Salah satu metode pengendalian persediaan yang terkait dengan masuk dan keluarnya barang adalah metode FSN atau Fast, Slow dan Non-moving. Dimana, barang-barang tersebut dibedakan berdasarkan pergerakan masuk dan keluarnya barang dari gudang. Berdasarkan penelitian yang sudah dilakukan di PT Sammarie Tramedifa didapatkan kesimpulan sebagai berikut. Terdapat perbedaan hasil klasifikasi FSN pada masing-masing indikator yang digunakan. Namun metode yang direkomendasikan untuk digunakan adalah metode consumption rate (CR). Barang-barang slow moving menyimpan aset sebanyak 23,16% (TOR), 17,21% (CR), 3,85% (FK), 56,56% (%) dari total aset Rp529.216.444,00. Serta, barang-barang non-moving menyimpan aset sebanyak 42,91% (TOR), 6,86% (CR), 7,44% (FK), 5,26% (%) dari total aset Rp529.216.444,00.
