PT. SamMarie Tramedifa termasuk ke dalam Pedagang Besar Farmasi (PBF) sehingga memiliki peran sebagai perantara antara industri farmasi dan fasilitas kesehatan dalam pendistribusian obat-obatan dan alat kesehatan. Sebagai PBF, PT. SamMarie Tramedifa memiliki kewajiban untuk menaati suatu pedoman yang mengatur mengenai cara mendistribusikan obat dan atau bahan obat yang baik, yaitu Pedoman Teknis Cara Distribusi Obat yang Baik (CDOB) yang dikeluarkan oleh Kepala. Salah satu hal pada CDOB yang yang perlu diikuti oleh PT. SamMarie Tramedifa sebagai PBF yang berlokasi di Indonesa adalah hal-hal yang mencakup penanganan produk rantai dingin. Produk rantai dingin memerlukan penanganan khusus dalam hal penyimpanan dan pendistribusian karena produk tersebut rentan terhadap temperatur. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan beberapa proses penting dalam penanganan produk tersebut, dimana salah satunya adalah pada saat pengiriman produk. Sistem yang digunakan dalam proses pengiriman produk rantai dingin perlu divalidasi guna memastikan bahwa sistem pengiriman yang dipakai dapat mempertahankan suhu yang diinginkan, mulai dari berangkat hingga sampai ke tempat tujuan. Validasi tersebut harus dilakukan minimal satu tahun sekali dan atau jika terdapat hal krusial yang berubah saat pengiriman. Validasi tahunan pengiriman produk rantai dingin sudah rutin oleh PT. SamMarie Tramedifa, akan tetapi di tahun 2022 validasi tersebut belum dilakukan sehingga di tahun 2023 perlu dilakukan kembali dilakukan validasi pengiriman untuk memastikan bahwa sistem pengiriman produk rantai dingin yang selama ini dipakai oleh PT tersebut masih dapat menjaga temperatur berada dalam rentang yang dipersyaratkan selama proses pengiriman produk rantai dingin. Metode yang dilakukan adalah dengan melakukan studi literatur terhadap prosedur opersional baku mengenai validasi pengiriman produk rantai dingin serta melakukan validasi ulang suhu pengiriman produk rantai dingin berdasarkan prosedur operasional baku yang sudah dimiliki oleh PT. SamMarie Tramedifa. Hasil yang diperoleh dari validasi ulang yang telah dilakukan adalah bahwa dari tiga jenis container yang divalidasi pengiriman, hanya satu container yaitu cool box ukuran 24 x 24 x 30 cm yang memenuhi spesifikasi.
