ABSTRAKSeiring dengan kebangkitan revolusi digital, inovasi GUI telah menjadi aset oleh perusahaan elektronik. Produsen perangkat keras dan perangkat lunak seperti: Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, dan perusahaan yang menggunakan ponsel aplikasi sebagai tempat mengembangkan bisnis mereka (Gojek, Grab, Lazada)) dan melindungi GUI di bawah undang-undang kekayaan intelektual sebagai desain dan program. Ada beberapa peraturan di Indonesia yang mengatur tentang perlindungan terhadap rancangan dan program yaitu UU no. 28 Tahun 2014 UU Hak Cipta, UU 31 Tahun 2000 tentang Desain Industri dan UU No. 3 tahun 2016 tentang Paten. Saat ini, peraturan tersebut tidak mengatur perlindungan GUI secara komprehensif. Ini menciptakan kebingungan bagi pemilik GUI dalam menentukan perlindungan yang paling tepat. Amerika Serikat dan Inggris Raya telah membahas perlindungan GUI sebagai desain dan sebagai program di Hukum Kekayaan Intelektual (IPR) mereka. Indonesia sebagai pasar kekayaan intelektual perlu mempertimbangkan untuk membuat lebih banyak produk hukumspesifik untuk memberikan perlindungan GUI yang proporsional.ABSTRACTAlong with the rise of the digital revolution, GUI innovation has become an asset by electronics companies. Hardware and software manufacturers such as: Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, and companies that use mobile applications as a place to develop their business (Gojek, Grab, Lazada)) and protect GUIs under intellectual property laws as designs and programs. There are several regulations in Indonesia that regulate the protection of designs and programs, namely Law no. 28 of 2014 on Copyright Law, 31 of 2000 on Industrial Design and Law no. 3 of 2016 concerning Patents. Currently, these regulations do not provide comprehensive GUI protection. This creates confusion for GUI owners in determining the most appropriate protection. The United States and United Kingdom have discussed GUI protection as a design and as a program in their Intellectual Property Law (IPR). Indonesia as an intellectual property market needs to consider making more legal products specific to provide proportional GUI protection.
