 Abstrak
[ABSTRAK

Tesis ini membahas konstruksi pesan politik melalui video musik, yaitu video
speech composing bertema Pilpres 2014 dalam YouTube. Dipilih tiga video yang
dipublikasikan pada masa kampanye Pilpres 2014, sehingga ketiganya
menampilkan kedua pasangan Capres-Cawapres, yaitu Prabowo-Hatta dan
Jokowi-JK, beserta tokoh politik, dan public figure lainnya. Semiotika Roland
Barthes digunakan sebagai teori dan metode penelitian. Hasil penelitan ini
ditemukan bahwa tanda-tanda digunakan untuk mengonstruksi pesan politik
berdasarkan tayangan yang bermuatan politik di televisi, dipadukan dengan
pengetahuan dan keinginan subjektif dari kreatornya. Dengan menyertakan unsur
parodi, pesan politik dalam ketiga video tersebut berusaha menggugah kesadaran
masyarakat tentang karakteristik pemerintahan yang semestinya, ketertiban
menjalani demokrasi di Indonesia, menggunakan hak suaranya, dan menjaga
kondisi yang kondusif, tenang, rukun, dan harmonis pada masa Pilpres 2014.


ABSTRACT
This thesis discusses construction of political message through music video, that
is speech composing video with Presidential Elections 2014 theme in YouTube.
These three chosen videos was published during Presidential Elections 2014
campaign, that showed the two pairs of candidate, Prabowo-Hatta and jokowi-JK,
along with other politicans and public figures. Roland Barthes Semiotics used as
theory and research methods. The result of this study showed that signs is used to
construct political message based on political programs in television, combined
with the knowledge and subjectivity of its creator. Enclosing the element of
parody, the political message on these videos tried to arouse the public awareness
about the ideal government and undergoing the democracy in Indonesia with
impeccable, using the voting rights, and keep the peace, condusive, and
harmonious condition during the Presidential Elections 2014., This thesis discusses construction of political message through music video, that
