The effect of music study on scores made in the Seashore Measures of Musical Talent has been a moot question for some time. Many and varied opinions have been expressed both verbally and in print but too often a marked paucity of factual material has characterized these reports. For the first time in the brief history of the application of musical capacity tests to students in a music school, the first test scores can be compared with second test scores after an interim of intensive musical education. This study will present facts from which numerous inquiries can be answered and previousstatements and theories verified or refuted.
