Skripsi ini membahas tentang pemikiran Jansenisme terutama mengenai grâce yang terdapat dalam novel Le Baiser au Lépreux melalui tokoh Jean yaitu dari diri Jean sendiri, lingkungan maupun latar tempat Jean berada. Untuk melihat bagaimana pemikiran tersebut ditampilkan dalam novel Le Baiser au Lépreux maka akan digunakan teori sintagmatik dan paradigmatik Roland Barthes dan teori sekuen Viala dan Schmitt.

AbstractThis thesis analysis the school of thought of Jansenism especially about the grace of God which is implied in the novel of Le Baiser au Lépreux through its main character Jean. The analysis will be focusing on Jean itself, his environment and places where he has been. To demonstrate the way the thoughts are being exposed in the novel of Le Baiser au Lépreux, the structuralism theory of Roland Barthes, Viala and Schmitt are applied.
