Skripsi ini membahas tiga tema besar, yaitu media televisi, budaya massa dan Cultural Studies. Konstruksi budaya massa melalui media televisi merupakan hubungan yang terjadi diantara kedua tema tersebut, kemudian Cultural Studies memberikan pandangannya mengenai fenomena tersebut. Budaya massa yang dihasilkan dari konstruksi media televisi tersebut merupakan suatu jenis budaya yang memiliki hak yang sama untuk menunjukkan eksistensinya tanpa adanya pembedaan antara budaya tinggi dan budaya rendah.

The Focus of this study is about three big topics, they are television, mass culture, and Cultural Studies. The construction of mass culture is the relationship between mass culture itself and television, and then Cultural Studies wants to give its view on this socio-cultural phenomenon. Mass culture which made by the construction through television is one type of the culture that has the same rights to exist without any differentiation between high culture and lower culture.
